Summary
In its 2020 transparency report, Reddit disclosed that South Korea was the second-largest source of government legal content-removal requests worldwide (60 requests, behind only Russia). South Korean demands are channelled through the Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCSC) and other agencies under the Network Act, which can compel providers to delete or restrict content deemed obscene, defamatory, or pro-North Korea. South Korea has remained a consistent top-tier requester in later reports; Reddit says it scrutinizes and may reject overbroad requests.
