What happened
According to Reddit's transparency report for July–December 2025, Reddit received "69,154 copyright takedown notices received (+17% from the previous reporting period)," of which "49,629 notices were actioned in whole or in part, resulting in a 71% notice actionability rate." The report also states "425,471 pieces of content identified (+17% from the previous reporting period)" and that "Reddit removed 217,787 pieces of content." On repeat-violator bans, the report states "1,595 user accounts were banned for repeat Copyright Policy violations (+90% compared to the previous reporting period)" and "563 subreddits were banned during this reporting period (-25% compared to the previous reporting period)."
