ModSupport (r/ModSupport)
ModerationDefinition
ModSupport, the community r/ModSupport, is an official Reddit channel where moderators can get help from Reddit admins on issues that affect running a community: tooling problems, escalations, policy questions and reports that need staff attention. Together with r/help for general users, it is one of the recognised routes for contacting the admins about a problem the standard interface does not resolve.
The community matters because it sits at the interface between the platform's volunteer moderators and its paid staff. Most moderation is delegated to volunteers, but some matters, abuse spanning many communities, suspected manipulation, bugs in safety tools, or appeals of admin actions, require the company itself. ModSupport is where that hand-off is supposed to happen in the open, making it a useful barometer of the often-strained relationship between Reddit and the unpaid moderators its model depends on, and a focal point during platform-wide disputes about tooling and policy.
