What happened
On March 8, 2024, just before its public debut, Reddit announced Reddit Pro, a suite of free tools designed to help businesses build an organic presence on the platform. Launched in beta, Reddit Pro offered AI-powered insights and performance analytics so brands could understand how their posts performed, discover relevant conversations happening across communities, and engage more effectively with Redditors. The timing — days ahead of the IPO — signaled how central Reddit considered its commercial relationships to its growth story.
Reddit steadily expanded the toolkit over the following two years. In January 2025 it added Reddit Pro Trends, letting businesses track keywords and phrases across communities; in August 2025 it released a dedicated Reddit Pro mobile app for iOS; and in September 2025 it opened a beta waitlist for specialized publisher tools, including an all-new 'Links' tab aimed at media outlets sharing and monitoring content across Reddit's audience of over 110 million daily users. Reddit Pro reflected the company's push to court businesses, marketers, and publishers as both an organic-engagement channel and an on-ramp to paid advertising.
