Krysta K. Pachman

Krysta K. Pachman is a litigation partner at Susman Godfrey L.L.P. in Los Angeles, where she handles commercial, class-action, intellectual-property, and privacy disputes. She earned her law degree from UCLA School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University. She argued the appeal in Does 1-6 v. Reddit, Inc. before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on behalf of pseudonymous plaintiffs who alleged that Reddit had knowingly profited from user-posted child sexual abuse material in violation of the federal sex-trafficking statute, as amended by FOSTA. In October 2022 the panel affirmed dismissal of the suit, holding that Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act barred the claims because the plaintiffs had not adequately alleged that Reddit knowingly benefited from participation in a trafficking venture. She has also represented sex-trafficking survivors in litigation against other online platforms. The plaintiffs in the case were anonymous Jane and John Does.
