William A. Maher

William A. Maher is a founding member of the law firm Wollmuth Maher & Deutsch LLP and leads the firm's litigation and dispute-resolution group. He earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the College of William & Mary, and has practised commercial litigation for more than thirty years. He is the first-named, signing counsel on Reddit's 2025 federal complaint accusing Perplexity AI, Inc. and the data-scraping intermediaries Oxylabs, AWMProxy, and SerpApi of large-scale circumvention of access controls in order to harvest Reddit content, with claims brought under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and state law.
