Reddit expands age assurance to Australia for the under-16 ban

On December 8, 2025 Reddit announced it was expanding age assurance to Australia to comply with the country's under-16 social-media ban, which lists Reddit among the covered platforms — extending the age-verification infrastructure first built for the UK Online Safety Act to a second national regime, days before Reddit simultaneously challenged the law in Australia's High Court.
