H2 2025 transparency report: annual government data-request totals disclosed

Reddit's transparency report for July–December 2025 states that for 2025 overall, Reddit "processed 323 government and law enforcement legal removal requests and 2,402 government and law enforcement non-emergency legal requests for information," and "caught and rejected 26 fraudulent legal requests (15 requests to remove content; 11 requests for user account information) purporting to come from legitimate government and law enforcement agencies during this period, for a total of 36 fraudulent legal requests received in 2025." For July–December 2025 alone, Reddit "received 1,223 (+4% from the prior report) standard legal requests for account information from global Gov/LE agencies" from "a total of 32 countries," disclosing account information in response to "861 (70%)" of them; "the U.S., our largest requesting jurisdiction, accounted for 721 requests (59% of global volume)." Reddit also "received 192 EDRs (+3% from prior report) from law enforcement agencies in 24 different countries" and "disclosed limited account information in response to 79 of those requests (41%)." For comparison, the January–June 2025 report recorded Reddit "received 1,179 (+12% from the prior report) standard legal requests for account information," disclosed information in "813 (69%)" of them, and counted "777 requests (66% of global volume)" from the U.S.
