Background
GallowBoob (publicly self-identified as Robert Allam) was among Reddit's best-known 'power users,' famous for repeatedly hitting the front page and for moderating many high-traffic subreddits. In March 2020 a viral 'Feudal Five' list named him as one of five moderators who together moderated 92 of the top 500 subreddits, prompting accusations of content-stealing and algorithm-gaming. He said he received death threats and hacking attempts and would step back from the platform, eventually largely leaving Reddit.
