Great Firewall (Golden Shield) blocking under China's cyberspace-sovereignty framework

Around August 11-12, 2018, Reddit became inaccessible in mainland China via the Great Firewall, joining Google, Facebook, YouTube, and other blocked foreign platforms. Authorities gave no official reason, but reporting linked the move to politically sensitive content on the site. Earlier 2015 reports of a block proved inaccurate or only intermittent; the 2018 block is the documented, sustained one. Reddit has remained listed as blocked in mainland China from 2018 to the present, accessible only via circumvention tools. The block is consistent with China's broader exclusion of large user-generated-content platforms it cannot directly control.
