Governance of the Black Experience on Reddit: r/BlackPeopleTwitter as a Case Study in Supporting Sense of Virtual Community for Black Users

Survey-based case study of r/BlackPeopleTwitter's governance, centered on the moderation team's contentious policy of verifying users' racial identity and restricting certain threads to verified users to protect Black expression. Black users report a higher sense of virtual community and are more likely to identify as members, while non-Black users tend to identify as guests or visitors.
