Analyzes public moderation records to study how volunteer moderators react when communities adopt algorithm-based moderation bots. Finds bots augment rather than replace volunteers: moderators shift effort from simple policing toward subjective rule violations and community-nurturing activities. Evidence on whether Reddit's volunteer-based moderation model can be made scalable and sustainable.
