Summary
Qualitative analysis of r/abortion in the months around the 2022 Dobbs leak and decision (523 posts, 88 comments sampled). Users described structural barriers — state bans, gestational limits, cost, appointment scarcity, long travel — plus newer ones like mail-order medication wait times and legal-risk fears; the most common consequences were adverse mental-health outcomes, delayed care, and self-managed abortion. Documents Reddit's role as an anonymous access-information channel after a landmark legal shift.
