Crime type
Criminal cases with a documented Reddit nexus that do not fit another category.
This page lists criminal cases with a documented Reddit nexus that do not fit any of the tracker's other categories. It exists so that a case is not forced into a category whose description it does not match, and so that every case in the tracker has a category page. The category is a remainder, not a theme: the entries on it can concern quite different conduct, and nothing is implied by two cases appearing together here.
Because the category is defined by exclusion, the legal frame for each entry is whatever the record states for that case. Entries summarise the charge, the court, the status, and the sentence as the sources state them, and they describe the Reddit connection only to the extent that the charging papers, court records, or contemporaneous reporting do. If a group of related cases in this category later grows large enough to form a coherent subject, the tracker can give that subject a category of its own, and the affected entries are then moved to it.
This tracker currently lists 3 cases in the other category. By latest recorded status: 3 sentenced. The cases are dated from 2021 to 2025. They were brought in 3 distinct jurisdictions in 2 countries (Denmark, United States). A status of charged is an accusation, not a finding of guilt.
Gross violations of copyright, including violation of the right of respect (moral rights) of the actors concerned
Introduction of misbranded drugs into interstate commerce
Introducing a new drug (2,4-Dinitrophenol, DNP) into interstate commerce without approval
No single statute or group of statutes governs this category, and the page therefore does not list one. Each entry names the offence charged and the court that is hearing or heard the case, and the sources linked from the entry are the best guide to the law that applied. In general terms, a case may arise under federal law, in which case it is brought by federal prosecutors in a federal court under a provision of the United States Code, or under the law of an individual U.S. state, in which case it is brought by a state or local prosecutor under state statutes.
Outside the United States, a case follows the criminal law of the prosecuting country. Where the tracker lists a non-U.S. case, its charges, procedure, and terminology can differ from those in the United States. Where an entry uses a term that is specific to a legal system, it uses the term as it appears in the sources.
Penalties, thresholds, and defences vary between legal systems and between offences, and they cannot be inferred from the category. This overview is general background and not legal advice, and it is not a statement about the guilt of any person listed on this page.
A case appears under other only where there is a documented Reddit nexus. That means the defendant used Reddit to commit, coordinate, advertise, or first draw law-enforcement attention to the offence, or that a Reddit CyberTip, a subpoena response, or a direct report to the police or the FBI produced the charge. The bar is deliberately strict. A widely reported case is excluded unless the Reddit connection is documented in the charging papers, court records, or contemporaneous reporting; simply holding a Reddit account is not enough, and incidents that actually ran through Discord, Telegram, or other platforms are left out rather than stretched to fit.
The status shown on each entry reflects the newest official document the tracker has located, such as an indictment, a plea agreement, a verdict, or a sentencing judgment, and it can lag behind later developments. A status of charged records an accusation only: a charge is not a finding of guilt, and every person charged is presumed innocent unless and until convicted or until they plead guilty. Entries marked charged are therefore labelled as alleged. Victims are never named, and where a victim is described at all the description is limited to what is needed to understand the charge. If an entry is out of date, incomplete, or wrong, use the corrections page to report it.
A case is placed in this category when it satisfies the Reddit-nexus standard above but its central allegation does not match CSAM, swatting, doxxing and threats, darknet drugs, fraud, stalking and harassment, violence, sextortion, terrorism, or non-consensual intimate imagery. Each case carries a single category, so a matter appears on only one hub.
